Our lead pastor

tom olson

Tom Olson has served as New Life’s Lead Pastor since 2019. His philosophy of ministry is simple: “If you love the lost, you will make disciples.” He believes that everyone who follows Jesus is called to make disciples who make disciples. With that in mind, Tom is committed to preaching the Word without compromise and challenging people to become who God has called them to be; wholly devoted followers of Jesus.

That passion for discipleship began when Tom was a youth pastor in 1996 and has continued throughout his years of ministry, including today at New Life.

Raised in a ministry family, Tom sensed God’s call on his life at a young age. He wasn’t always excited about that calling and spent plenty of time trying to convince the Lord otherwise. Eventually, Tom surrendered to God’s call, and he has seen the Lord’s faithfulness in every area of his life; family, ministry, and beyond.

Tom’s wife, Laura, was also raised in a ministry home. She was initially a little reluctant to even date a seminarian, but after five years, plenty of prayer, and some convincing, she and Tom were married. Today, they love serving the Lord together. They share a passion for missions, traveling, the outdoors, and working out together.

God has blessed Tom and Laura with two wonderful children, who are now young adults attending college. Laura homeschooled them through high school, with a little help from Tom along the way.

The Olson family is close-knit, loves the Lord, and has a passion for serving and ministering to the people God brings into their lives.
